Description

From the vantage point of Centraal Station, the iconic cupola and neo-Renaissance towers of Amsterdam's main Catholic church can be seen. Built between 1884 and 1887, the church was the first to be established after the repeal of anti-Catholic laws in the 19th century. Dedicated to St Nicholas, the patron saint of seafarers, the church has become a beloved symbol of Amsterdam.
