Amsterdam’s inner-most semicircular canal

The Singel canal runs from the IJ bay near Centraal Station all the way to the Muntplein and on to the Amstel river. This waterway is lined by magnificent canal houses built during the Dutch Golden Age. There is also a hotel by the same name.

The Singel Hotel is housed in three of the old canal houses along the Single. Along the semicircle of the Singel canal you will find shops, restaurants, and Amsterdam’s famous flower market, Bloemenmarkt. The flower market at Muntplein actually has its market stalls on boats floating in the Singel canal.
