Description

A museum celebrating the world wide culture of pipe smoking

The Amsterdam Pipe Museum displays a unique collection of pipes and other tobacco smoking paraphernalia including pipe cabinets. Pipe smoking and the use of tobacco dates back to 500 B.C. This museum shows off crudely made pipes of the past, commoner’s pipes, and elegant pipes of aristocrats.

The smoking paraphernalia exhibited at the Pipe Museum covers objects from 5 different continents. There are over 20,000 items in the collection. Each pipe at the museum has a history, or at least a story, behind it. Some pipes are of great value, others belonged to poor men. Learn about the culture of smoking throughout history at the Pipe Museum.
