Description

Anatomical Embryology Laboratory of the University of Amsterdam

Museum Vrolik is made up of the private collection of anatomical, zoological and teratological specimens of Professor Gerardus Vrolik and his son, Willem Vrolik. Their collection of specimens date from the late 1700’s to the mid 1800’s. It includes human embryos, bones, and teeth.

Private collections donated by Hovius and Grevers have been added to the Museum Vrolik. Some further additions include animal specimens. More than 150 new examples of congenital malformations have been added since 1994. This exhibit is used for teaching and research at the University of Amsterdam.
