Museum Van Loon provides an exclusive look into the extravagance of life at the top of the social ladder in the 19th century. Located in an impressive 1672 residence that was first home to Dutch painter Ferdinand Bol and later to the wealthy Van Loon family, the museum holds a treasure trove of artworks and artifacts. Amongst the many pieces are The Marriage of Willem van Loon and Margaretha Bas created by renowned Dutch master Jan Miense Molenaer and a collection of 150 portraits of the Van Loons. There is also an array of ornate interiors, full of opulence and grandeur.
