Description

Eduard Douwes Dekker, better known by his pen name Multatuli (Latin for 'I have suffered greatly'), is famous for his novel Max Havelaar (1860), which criticized the corrupt colonialists in the Dutch East Indies. Paying tribute to the writer, this small yet captivating house-museum showcases furniture and artefacts from his time in Indonesia, as well as delving into the details of his life and work.
