Description
Originally opened as a town hall in 1655, this glorious building was transformed into a palace in the 19th century. Its interiors are stunning, particularly the marble work, exemplified in the great burgerzaal (citizens' hall). Here, intricate maps of the world have been inlaid into the floor. Visitors can pick up a free audioguide when entering the palace, which provides vivid detail about the different rooms. King Willem-Alexander utilises the palace for ceremonial purposes, so be sure to check if it is closed during your visit.
