This 1622 canal house by Hendrick de Keyser and his son Pieter showcases the whimsical Dutch Renaissance style. Its elegant step gable features six heads at door level symbolizing the classical muses: Apollo, Diana, Ceres, Bacchus, Minerva and Mercury. The building currently serves as a home to the Embassy of the Free Mind museum, which celebrates two millennia of free thinkers, and the Ritman Library (Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica). Thanks to the donation from author Dan Brown, the ancient spiritual and philosophical titles contained in the library are now being digitised.
