A free cruise to explore the Noord
The Free ferry across the IJ allows you to explore the old industrial neighborhood Noord (Amsterdam North). You will find the free Gemeentelijk Vervoerbedrijf (GVB) ferries behind Amsterdam’s Central Station.
There are two landings to step aboard of a Free ferry across the IJ. At landing 7 you will find the Buikersloterwegveer ferry, which runs every few minutes, 24 hours a day. At landing 8 there is the IJ-Veer ferry which runs Mon. - Fri. between 6:35 a.m. and 6:05 p.m. The hydrofoil Fast Flying Ferry at pier 14 is not free.
