Description

Take some time to explore the small, yet comprehensive, museum that commemorates the history of the beloved tulip. Through various exhibits, a timeline, and two English-language films, visitors can trace the flowers’ origins from the Himalayan steppes to Ottoman merchants, and discover how fortunes were made and lost during the infamous Dutch ‘Tulipmania’ of the 17th century. Find out how tulip bulbs were used as a food source during WWII, and learn about modern day growing and harvesting techniques. Allow approximately thirty minutes to take in the exhibits.
